Inspired by early 20th-century expeditions to the Amazon and the travels of botanical painter Marianne North, we created Bard’s Brews Summer Collection: Expedition to the Glowing Forest as a window into another world. Where sweet and refreshing yerba mate blends bring to life the story of a botanist venturing deep into a glowing rainforest, collecting samples, sketching plants, and documenting magical flora along the way.

To illustrate this story, we collaborated with Davi-Ann (@sunfairystudio), an incredibly talented artist whose work blends natural scenes with a dreamlike sense of beauty and storytelling. In this interview, Davi-Ann shares more about her journey as an artist, her creative process, and what inspired her as she painted the Glowing Forest:
Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of this dreamy collaboration! I'm Davi-Ann, an artist who paints vibrant, whimsical worlds inspired by nature, storytelling, and moments of magic. I’m most at home in my sketchbook, surrounded by fairy lights and gouache paints, imagining glowing forests, fairy cottages, and overgrown gardens waiting to be explored.
I’ve been painting seriously for a few years now, mostly using gouache and watercolors. Over time, my style has grown more detailed and storytelling-focused. I love creating pieces that feel like windows into a fairytale where tiny books, glowing mushrooms, and forest spirits are part of everyday life.
Nature is my greatest muse. I find inspiration in golden sunlight, tangled vines, and soft forest floors. My favorite scenes to paint are the ones that feel peaceful yet filled with a sense of wonder, like fairies reading under mushrooms or tea left out in the garden for someone unseen.

When Bard’s Brews reached out about their “Expedition to the Glowing Forest” collection, I was immediately enchanted. The idea felt like it had leapt out of my own sketchbook: a glowing rainforest, a curious botanist collecting magical samples, and bioluminescent flora lighting the path. I filled pages with shimmering plants, luminous trees, and soft glows tucked into the forest’s heart.

One of my favorite labels features the glowing pineapple in the forest. It feels like the heart of the glowing jungle still, alive, and full of secrets. I was surprised and delighted by how much storytelling could fit into each little label. Each one feels like a scene from a field journal small, collectible, and filled with enchantment.
